The Powerful Impact Of Prayer. Psalm 139:23–24 (KJV)
When we think of prayer, we often think of what we want the Lord to do for us or others, but communicating with Him has spiritual effects that we may not be aware of. The Bible instructs us to devote ourselves to prayer and to pray continuously (Col. 4:2; 1 Thess. 5:17). Constant communication with our heavenly Father is one of the ways He influences us personally.
The Impact Of Prayer
Prayer transforms us. We will be transformed as we seek the Lord and spend time in His Word on a regular basis. Our desires will be replaced by His, and our thinking will become more aligned with His.
We will have a better understanding of how to pray in accordance with His will as our understanding of His character grows.
We invite God to do His work in us through prayer. While we cannot change a single divine plan or force the Lord to change His mind, we can invite Him to change us. We submit to God’s will in prayer, repent of our sins, and ask Him to shape us into the image of His Son. And He will hear and answer such a prayer because it is exactly what He wants to do in each of us.
