Bible Verses About Faith In Action
When we are saved by faith in Christ, we should feel compelled by Jesus’ sacrificial gift of love to give to others as well. After all, the Bible says that faith without works is dead. By letting his light shine through us, we give glory to God.
James 2:14-26 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight of faith, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
“Faith in action is love, and love in action is service. By transforming that faith into living acts of love, we put ourselves in contact with God Himself, with Jesus our Lord.” – Mother Teresa
Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
1 Thessalonians 1:3 For we remember before our God and Father how you put your faith into practice, how your love made you work so hard, and how your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ is firm.
What Does The Bible Say About Faith?
There is so much emphasis in the Bible about having and trusting God by faith. When our faith is hooked in Him, we are rest assured that he will see us through all challenges and situations, in good times and bad times He will be there because He loves and cares for us no matter the circumstances.
Let us not tremble and lament over what the world is coming to. Let us rather rejoice in the first coming of Jesus to this world to redeem it, and in His second coming to rule in glory, with justice and righteousness and peace. And while we wait may we lose our fears in self-giving love and service for Christ and for others.
Having faith in what is to come, and losing our fears in self-giving love and service for Jesus Christ will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.
